Kick-start your career in renewable energy and infrastructure. As a Junior Project Developer at Tesla Holdings, you’ll support approvals, grid, and land access for major BESS and gas projects across WA.
Tesla Holdings, a Western Australian operator of power stations, is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented individual to join our development team. This role is suited for candidates early in their career who are eager to learn and contribute to the delivery of large-scale battery energy storage (BESS) and gas reciprocating projects. You will work closely with senior developers, gaining exposure across the full project lifecycle. A senior developer role is also available for more experienced candidates.
About Tesla Holdings
Tesla Holdings currently operates four peaking power plants in Western Australia. Our innovative transition program is shifting operations from diesel to more sustainable battery-based systems. Five of our projects have already achieved Committed Status in the 2025 Reserve Capacity Cycle, and we have several company-transforming developments in the pipeline for the 2026 and 2027 cycles.
The Role
This is a hands-on learning position where you will support the development of major energy projects while building your own expertise. You will assist with project approvals, land access, grid connection processes, consultant coordination, and stakeholder engagement. The role provides a pathway to progress into more senior development responsibilities over time.
Key Responsibilities
Support the origination and advancement of utility-scale projects (BESS and gas reciprocating engines).
Assist with land access, permitting, and environmental approval activities.
Coordinate and manage inputs from consultants and technical advisers.
Help prepare documentation for grid connection and regulatory submissions.
Contribute to commercial activities including contract reviews and financial models.
Participate in stakeholder engagement with regulators, landholders, and community groups.
Undertake research and analysis to support investment cases.
Key Requirements
1–3 years’ experience in infrastructure, engineering, energy, property or related sectors (graduates with strong motivation also considered).
Understanding of project development principles and interest in renewable energy.
Strong analytical and organisational skills with attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication.
Ability to work collaboratively while taking ownership of individual tasks.
Willingness to travel to regional and remote sites as required.
Salary
Compensation for this position ranges from $100,000 to $115,000 annually plus bonus, depending on experience.
Why Join Us?
This is an opportunity to launch your career in project development with a company at the forefront of WA’s energy transition. You’ll gain direct exposure to large-scale projects and learn alongside experienced developers while making a tangible contribution to sustainable energy growth. Applications from all neurotypes are welcome.
