Starting February 2026, our program provides professional development training and on-the-job experience pathways, designed to smoothly transition you from academic study into the workplace. As a graduate at the City, you will benefit from:

What’s on offer

Join the Natural Areas Conservation team as a Graduate and help protect and enhance the City’s 14,000-hectare conservation estate! In this hands-on role, you will work with Rangers, Bush Regenerators and the NaturallyGC team to identify plants and weeds, participate in community planting days, inspect and maintain assets and fire trails, and resolve park management issues. You will also help to collect and record field data, use maps and spatial tools to guide decisions and help keep our natural areas healthy, safe and thriving.

Who can apply?

To be considered for this opportunity you must hold a recognised bachelor's degree or post graduate qualification from a tertiary institution, completed within the last two years or be completing prior to the commencement of the program in February 2026. Applicants must have full working rights in Australia for the duration of the program and be able to work full-time.

The Graduate Natural Areas Officer welcomes graduates who have studied Bachelor of Environmental Science, Applied Science or other Conservation and Land Management qualifications; and related fields.
