We have an exciting opportunity for a Natural Assets Ranger to join our Natural Assets Management team!
What You Will Do:
As a Natural Assets Ranger, you will enjoy undertaking a diverse range of tasks which will ensure that no two days are ever the same! Your work will take you across the region, from Waugh’s Pocket in the south to Ellis Beach in the north, supporting the Natural Assets Management Team in protecting and enhancing our environment. The role is focused on pest plant and animal management along with seasonal fire management, revegetation and native wildlife activities. You will liaise and assist in working with the community in a range of land management practices addressing both environmental and community concerns.
This role offers ample opportunities for skill development and training to support a dynamic workload that changes with the seasons.
What We Are Looking For:
Completion of secondary education up to Year 10, with strong written and verbal communication skills and a solid understanding of basic mathematics.
Cert II Conservation & Land Management, or equivalent, or significant experience in an environmental and / or land management role.
Proven ability to identify native and declared plant species, with experience in managing and controlling these through activities such as landscaping, forestry, environmental restoration, park development, and pest plant and animal control.
Experience operating 4WD vehicles in off-road and challenging conditions.
Willingness & desirability to participate in fire management and pest animal management activities.
Demonstrated ability to undertake a wide variety of physically demanding labouring tasks in a range of climatic conditions and terrains.
Demonstrated ability to develop sound, professional and responsive working relationships specifically in the areas of dealing with the public and emphasis on providing quality customer service.
