About the Role

An exciting new opportunity has emerged to support our client as they embark on a transformative journey to strengthen their HR capability.

Historically supported by a long-serving HR Coordinator, the organisation is now ready to evolve its HR function, embracing strategic leadership and HR best practices.

We’re looking for a Generalist HR Business Partner with strong foundations across core HR disciplines, including employment legislation, employee relations and the design of effective people management processes. This position is ideal for an experienced HR professional who has grown from operational roles into strategic HR partnership and who thrives in purpose-led environments.

In this role, you’ll partner closely with senior leadership to shape the organisation’s people strategy, drive positive business outcomes and cultivate a high-performance culture. Importantly, you’ll also help design the systems, structures and support that allow frontline staff, such as social services professionals and volunteers, to focus fully on their mission-driven work.

While you’ll have the autonomy to shape and lead the HR function locally, you’ll also be well supported by an experienced and collaborative HR team based in Melbourne.

Key Responsibilities

Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders

Lead workforce planning, succession, and talent development initiatives

Provide expert guidance on employee relations and performance matters

Support organisational design, employee engagement, and change management

Use data and insights to inform strategy and continuous improvement

Ensure HR policies and practices reflect compliance and contemporary best practice

About You

A strong foundation in core HR functions.

Relevant HR qualifications and knowledge of employment legislation

Strong stakeholder engagement, coaching, and influencing skills

A balance of strategic thinking with hands-on delivery

A proactive, values-aligned approach to people and culture
