The Y Canberra Region operates two accommodation sites – Leumeah Lodge in Nicholls and Bush Capital Lodge in O’Connor – hosting school groups, community groups, and free independent travelers. The Role:
We’re looking for an Operations Supervisor to join our Accommodation Services team. This role supports the Group Operations Manager to ensure our sites run efficiently, safely, and to the highest standard – across accommodation, catering, compliance, and staff supervision.
This is a hands-on leadership position, where no two days are the same. You’ll be involved in everything from creating rosters, monitoring budgets, and managing compliance, to supporting our catering team with guest dietary requirements and improving the overall guest experience.
Key Responsibilities:
· Support the Group Operations Manager in daily operations across both sites.
· Oversee catering coordination, including dietary requirements and guest feedback.
· Assist in budget monitoring, cost control, and supplier management.
· Ensure compliance with WHS, HACCP Certification, and Accommodation Accreditation.
· Help lead and develop a high-performing kitchen and front-of-house team.
· Create rosters in line with business needs and staff cost targets.
· Maintain guest satisfaction and ensure rooms and dining areas meet presentation standards.
What We’re Looking For:
· Experience in hospitality, accommodation, or operational leadership.
· Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
· Understanding of food safety and WHS requirements.
· Great communication skills and a customer-focused mindset.
· Flexibility to work across both sites, with occasional early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
· Current Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) registration (or ability to obtain).
· Current driver’s licence.
