The Opportunity

Join our Child Disability team at The Kids Research Institute Australia and our vibrant program of epidemiology, measurement science and evaluation research. The vision of the Child Disability team is that all children impacted by disability and their families will live their best lives. Our research is evidence-and consumer-informed, underpinned by excellence in study design, analysis, and reporting.
We now have an exciting opportunity for a Research Assistant to work alongside our diverse research team. You will have opportunities to support the team in a range of activities, such as:
Assisting with literature and policy reviews, as well as ethics applications as required.
Contributing to the development of research papers, reports, webinar and conference presentations that support engagement with different stakeholder groups.
Assisting with the creation and piloting of surveys, interviews and evaluations.
Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with participating community members, colleagues, collaborators and other project participants.
Conveniently based within Perth Children’s Hospital in Nedlands, this role will be offered for an initial 5-year period. A full-time or a part-time (0.6-0.8 FTE) position will be considered for the right candidate.
About You
The successful candidate will hold a relevant tertiary qualification in a health-related field and experience in the health, disability, or community sector, or have other relevant work experience. Along with this, you will possess the following:
Knowledge and understanding of child disability including intellectual disabilities.
Experience with writing documents and reports.
Highly developed interpersonal communication skills, including the demonstrated ability to work both independently and within a collaborative team environment.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy when managing data.
Experience in research processes such as literature reviews, protocol development and data management and analysis are advantageous.
