- Full-time appointment on a fixed term basis for 2 years.
- Base salary range: Level B, $118,150 – $139,812 p.a. plus 17% superannuation.
About the area
The School of Biological Sciences is a large and multidisciplinary team of more than 80 high-calibre academic and professional staff delivering world-class education and research programs to approximately 600 undergraduate and postgraduate students. The School is also responsible for the supervision of ~120 PhD students, reflecting research strengths and expertise in the disciplines of Animal Biology, Computational Biology, Conservation Biology, Ecology, Evolutionary Biology, Marine Biology, Neuroscience, Plant Biology and Science Communication.
About the opportunity
- Develop and expand research and postgraduate programs in conservation and restoration native species seed science relevant to improving outcomes for biodiversity conservation and restoration
- Deliver high level research outcomes including collaborations with leading international seed science and restoration groups
- Responsible for laboratory, field and glasshouse programs particularly in relation to developing effective industry and First Nations programs in conservation and restoration seed science.
About you
- Recognised doctoral degree, higher doctorate or equivalent in relevant discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in successfully undertaking research in the fields of conservation and/or restoration science as it relates to seed ecology and seed science of wild species.
- Capacity to contribute and participate in a collegial and supportive working environment and the ability to interact with students and staff with cross cultural sensitivity.
- Ability to work cooperatively and productively in multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent record in research, supported by peer reviewed grants and publications at a level commensurate with the position
