BreastSurgANZ is committed to reducing the impact of breast disease by setting and advancing standards in breast surgery through training and education, research, advocacy, audit, and the development of evidence-based practice.
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled, highly motivated and detail-oriented Research Officer to support the Breast Quality Audit (BQA) - a program that drives quality improvements in breast cancer surgical care.
This 0.6 FTE (3 days/week), 12-month contract is perfect for someone who thrives on data-driven insights, enjoys research, and wants to make a real impact in healthcare. This is a newly created role working closely with the CEO, BreastSurgANZ BQA Committee and Council and the Breast Quality Audit team.
Salary
$60, 480 - $67,200 inc. 12% super (pro-rata)
Full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE): base salary $90,000 - $100,000 + super (12%)

What You’ll Do
Analyse and report on breast cancer surgical data
Prepare reports and presentations for publication
Collaborate with clinicians, researchers, and stakeholders
Ensure ethical and accurate use of clinical data
What You Bring
Health science degree with a statistical background (or 5+ years’ experience)
Strong skills in SQL and statistical software (R, SAS, SPSS, or Stata)
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Self starter with an ability to work independently
Nice to Have
Knowledge of breast cancer surgery
Experience with clinical audits or cancer research
