As a subsidiary of United Petroleum Pty Ltd, we manage Major Hazard Facilities with a strong focus on safety, operational excellence, and regulatory compliance.

The Role
We are seeking an experienced Terminal Operator to join our Bell Bay team. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of day-to-day terminal activities, ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards. You will play a critical role in maintaining our licence to operate through operational excellence and maintenance programs.

Key Responsibilities

Safely operate and monitor terminal equipment, including gantry loading systems, storage tanks, and fuel pipelines.

Manage the receipt, storage, handling, and road tanker loading of products.

Maintain accurate stock movement records (tank transfers, shipping receipts, dewatering).

Coordinate with contractors and stakeholders to ensure efficient operations.

Assist with emergency response and safety management system (SMS) audits.

Raise and action corrective work orders in the CMMS (MEX).

Support product quality assurance, including issuing Certificates of Analysis and Tank Release Certificates when required.

Participate in training, mentoring, and operational improvement initiatives.

About You
You’ll have a strong background in bulk fuel terminal operations, with high-level skills in planning, operations, and maintenance. You will also bring:

Formal trade qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Instrumentation highly desirable.

Shore Officer qualification highly regarded, training provided for the right applicant.

Advanced knowledge of SCADA, CMMS, and HSE management systems.

Strong mechanical and electrical process understanding.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Willingness to occasionally travel to support other terminals.

Desirable

Experience in Major Hazard Facilities (MHF) operations.

Aviation fuel handling experience.
