Hazelbrook Legal is a strategic legal advisory firm specializing in complex corporate, financial services, funds, and public and private M&A law. With offices in Sydney and Canberra, we work alongside some of the most innovative and exciting businesses across Australia and offshore. The Important Stuff

Working within our dynamic, tightly knit team in our Canberra office, you will work across a broad range of practice areas including corporate contracting; IP and data privacy; commercial litigation; funds including assisting private equity and venture capital, financial services and regulatory; and mergers and acquisitions. Work at the top end of town, with deals and clients who are regularly in the AFR and transactions with significant ramifications, and work alongside industry recognised lawyers.

At Hazelbrook you will have direct client contact from the get-go and the opportunity to build deep client relationships and networks, greater responsibility, and genuine progression. Desired Skills and Expertise

Ideal candidates will be a recent graduate of law or have around 1 years’ experience.

We look for individuals seeking a high-performing and rewarding work environment, who are ready to roll their sleeves up and get things done. Our team members have excellent technical skills and are passionate about performing high quality and sometimes demanding work with sophisticated clients.

To be successful at Hazelbrook Legal you will be commercially minded and want to truly understand the drivers of your clients and the environments in which they operate. You must be interested in genuinely getting to know your clients, team members and professional partners, and have the social skills and attitude to deliver exceptional service.

You will know the importance of attention to detail and have the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.

As a graduate or junior lawyer you will:

Be immersed in complex corporate matters working with change makers of industry.

Be empowered with a range of initiatives to give you the best start to your career.

Be involved in client work from the beginning, assisting the team on a variety of corporate matters.

Be equipped with all the programs you need to succeed through our intensive induction program, as well as experiencing our firm strategy, culture and legal insights.

Have access to tailored and comprehensive career development initiatives including training and workshops as well as our capability framework and KPI’s so you clearly know how to succeed and progress.

Join our health and wellbeing program (yoga, book club, social events).

Be invited to contribute to our ongoing inhouse and external learning modules with the opportunity to present CLEs.

Be allocated a formal mentor (our mentors rotate every six months to experience our whole team and different working backgrounds and styles).
