About the role

As a Senior Plantation Manager at WA Sandalwood Plantations Pty Ltd, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations and long-term management of sandalwood plantations located in the mid-west and eastern wheatbelt of Western Australia. This is a full-time role primarily based in Perth with regular field trips of 2 to 5 days. A company vehicle and laptop will be provided. The role is integral to driving the success of our business.

What you'll be doing

• Implement monitoring and management plans for sandalwood plantations.
• Oversee plantation operations, including inventory, pest and disease control, planting, harvesting, maintenance and fire management activities.
• Monitor plantation health and environmental conditions. Investigate and report on any observed growth interruption events.
• Analyse plantation performance data and prepare detailed reports on operations, yields, and costs.
• Undertaking necessary training and development to build on knowledge relevant to the management of sandalwood plantations.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant company policies, legislative and workplace health and safety requirements.
• Collaborate with the wider business team to identify opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement.

What we're looking for

• Experience in managing commercial forestry plantations.
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision making.
• Tertiary qualifications in Forest science, Environmental science or a related field.
