THE ROLE

This vacancy is available purely due to growth and rapid expansion within the business.

They don’t just need a WHSQ Supervisor they need an experienced traveling wizard with a wand striking magic, as you work the various sites ensuring WHSQ is at the forefront of daily practices.

The role requires forward planning and the ability to execute, yet use your initiate to ensure projects fulfil industry compliance and safety is paramount on building sites.

The key duties will see you supporting the Director and HR Manager responsible for

• Coaching, mentoring, and supporting personnel to continually improve the culture
• Be able to draft and implement WHSQ documents and performance of the project team
• Monthly statutory reporting on health and safety matters to the senior leadership team.
• Conduct inductions, leading and managing toolbox meetings
• Monitor, document and conduct relevant safety training.
• Liaise with and advise personnel and sub-contractors regarding mitigation and management of risks and hazards.
• Conduct audits on high-risk activities and site inspections.
• Provide ongoing health and safety advice to Supervisors, Sub-Contractors, and site workers to eliminate or minimize hazards.
• Draft HR SWMS, HR Rescue procedures, Plant Risk assessments, plant yard risk assessment.
• Assist sites with hazard identification and risk assessment activities.
• Preparing risk assessments, and safety documentation to industry standards.
• Maintain and initiate site inspections, risk assessments, task observations, and reviewing High-risk work SWMS.
• Managing ISO accreditation process, including being responsible for the annual audit process across the group.
• Broadly, ensuring all systems, policies, procedures and documentation are in order to ensure a safe, compliant and efficient working environment.
• Managing, monitor workers compensation claims
• Assist with return-to-work cases

THE ESSENTIALS

• Cert IV in WHS
• Minimum 3 years' experience in a Health & Safety role
• SafeWork NSW “White Card”
• Tertiary qualifications at degree or associate diploma in Health, Safety, or equivalent relevant experience
• Industry knowledge, exposure within civil / construction, ideally exposure to the Craning, Rigging arena
• Verified understanding in the implementation and development of QS, risk strategy policy and procedures
• People leadership experience to mentor and guide a small team of dedicated professionals.
• Elevated level problem solving, negotiation and strategic thinking ability.
• Build lasting relationships with not only contractors but also clients.
• A resolver, collaborative, with an ability to “nut out” concerns guaranteeing solutions
• Upkeep the necessary ISO standards across the business
• Proficient computer skills, Word Document, Excel, Power point.
