Kalahari Farms is a diversified family-owned agri-business based in Mareeba, 1 hour west of Cairns, Far North Queensland. The business is involved with a broad range of agricultural enterprises such as avocados, macadamias, and poultry operations. We are currently on the lookout for a dynamic and experienced Farm Manager to join our poultry department and manage one of our poultry farms. The poultry operation comprises 2 farms with 10 sheds.

The successful candidate will be compensated with an attractive salary package, including a company vehicle for work use and a well-maintained house.

Responsibilities of this position will include:

Lead by example in a team environment, setting clear expectations and overseeing the operations of the poultry farms.

Ensure the care and feeding of the birds, including animal welfare/husbandry, manage day-to-day operations smoothly.

Ventilation system monitoring and management.

Maintain compliance with relevant laws and regulations and adhering to Company, RSPCA and client standards.

Maintaining bio-security and quarantine to the highest standards.

Maintain up-to-date records of production, inventory, and farm activities.

General repairs & maintenance and operating machinery.

Requirements and Skills:

Proven experience in poultry management and a comprehensive understanding of poultry husbandry.

Full Australian Work Rights.

Excellent problem-solving, organisational, and interpersonal skills.

Knowledge of animal welfare standards, biosecurity, and regulatory compliance.

Proficient in record-keeping and data analysis.

Availability to work outside of business hours if needed and to adapt to changing circumstances.

Trustworthy and professional person who can be relied upon and who can work in a team environment.

Experience in planning, organising, prioritising, and coordinating work in a changing environment.

The Reward
In return for your efforts, you will receive the following:

Generous salary of $75,000 - $85,000 plus superannuation
