FARM MANAGER

We are seeking an experienced Farm Manager to manage one of four modern Chicken Farms in Elbow Valley (Warwick, Queensland).

Step into a senior leadership role with Carr Farming, Australia’s largest family-owned chicken farm.

This is a residential role and requires you to live on site. A modern 4 bed 2 bath house along with utilities as part of the package. The role also includes shared on-call duties including alarm response and night checks if so required.

What We’re Looking For

· Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in a poultry farm management.

· Strong leadership skills and experience in managing teams.

· Understanding of animal welfare and biosecurity protocols.

· Physically fit and comfortable with hands-on farm work

· Strong time management and problem-solving skills

· Good computer skills and ability to maintain records.

· Experience with farm machinery operations and basic equipment maintenance.

· A passion for sustainable agriculture and innovation.

· Ability to follow RSPCA and WHS protocols

· Professional, dependable and a team player

· Willing to live on site.

In this role you will be responsible for farm management with the greatest priority being the welfare of the chickens. You will ensure the facilities are maintained to the highest standard and the site is always immaculately presented, whilst ensuring that the business operates efficiently to deliver agreed performance targets. This role reports directly to the General Manager.

This is a dynamic hands-on role suited to someone with the drive to succeed

Duties include (But not limited to):

· Creating an environment that drives continuous improvement in all aspects of the farming department, environmental awareness, animal welfare, quality, productivity and safety.

· Oversee and work hands on with the day-to-day operations of one of our chicken farms

· Lead and mentor your assistant manager and other farm workers

· Ensure 100% compliance with RSPCA animal welfare standards as well as biosecurity regulations

· Drive operational improvements and implement sustainable farming practices

· Collaborate with the General Manager and the Operations Manager

· Manage feed, monitor bird health and maintain optimal production conditions.

· Ensuring workplace health and safety, environmental and animal welfare procedures are the highest priority

· Using best practise and innovative shed management techniques to ensure optimum bird growing requirements without compromising any animal welfare and processor standards.

· Monitoring and reporting

· Always maintaining and presenting the farm and the structures to the highest standards possible

· Training, motivating and leading the team to achieve quality outcomes in a professional manner.
