Female Support Worker (Young Male Participant – 1:1 Day Program) | Empathy Alliance

Schedule:

Monday: 10:30am – 4:30pm (6 hrs)

Wednesday: 10:30am – 4:30pm (6 hrs)

Sunday: 10:00am – 6:00pm (8 hrs)

Total: 20 hours per week
Pay: $42/hr weekdays, $70/hr Sundays
Total weekly earnings: $1064/week
Pay increase after 3 months - Performance dependent

This is a contract position - you are responsible for your own taxes and insurance.
Opportunity to transition into casual or part-time employment in future

About the Role:
Empathy Alliance is seeking a female support worker with a bubbly, kind, and encouraging personality to support a young male participant with permanent blindness and a developmental delay.

The participant is shy and timid, and responds best to calm, friendly, and patient support. He enjoys consistency and routine, and benefits from positive social interaction and gentle encouragement.

A female support worker is required in line with the participant’s preference, comfort and dignity of care.

This is a dedicated 1:1 role – you will not be rotating between clients or locations.

Duties include:
✅ Assistance with toileting and showering
✅ Support with activities of daily living (ADLs)
✅ 1:1 day program and community access
✅ Visits to youth centres, leisure venues, grocery stores, and community outings
✅ Life skill support: ordering food, catching public transport, and shopping
✅ Providing consistent emotional support, building trust, and encouraging social confidence

What you’ll need:

Driver’s licence + own vehicle
