Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Site Foreman to oversee and manage all on-site activities related to civil drainage works. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising the workforce, ensuring work is executed safely, on schedule, and in accordance with project specifications and quality standards. Heavy Civil work experience is favourable.
Key Responsibilities:
Site Supervision
Supervise daily drainage activities including trenching, pipe laying, manhole installation, and reinstatement.
Monitor the work of subcontractors, laborers, and machine operators on-site.
Health & Safety
Enforce strict adherence to health and safety regulations.
Conduct regular safety briefings, toolbox talks, and ensure proper use of PPE.
Identify and mitigate on-site hazards, especially related to excavation and confined space work.
Quality Assurance
Ensure work is executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and method statements.
Inspect completed works and ensure quality and compliance before inspections.
Assist in drainage testing (air/water tests) and quality checks.
Work Planning & Coordination
Plan and allocate daily work tasks in coordination with the site engineer.
Ensure required materials, tools, and equipment are available on-site as needed.
Coordinate with other trades to prevent site conflicts.
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain daily site diaries, labor records, equipment usage logs, and progress reports.
Raise material requests and ensure deliveries are checked and recorded.
Report any site issues, deviations, or delays to management promptly.
Stakeholder Communication
Liaise with engineers, surveyors, consultants, and client representatives as required.
Coordinate inspections and handovers of completed drainage sections.
Qualifications and Experience:
Diploma or Technical Certificate in Civil Engineering or related field (preferred).
Minimum 5 years of experience in civil infrastructure/drainage projects.
Proven supervisory experience on-site.
Knowledge of drainage systems, utility coordination, and trench safety.
Ability to read and interpret civil and drainage drawings.
Skills Required:
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent understanding of site safety practices.
Ability to coordinate multiple teams and tasks under pressure.
Strong communication and reporting skills.
Basic computer skills (MS Excel, Word, or site management software) – preferred.
Working Conditions:
Site-based role, often in outdoor conditions.
May require extended hours and weekend work depending on project demands.
Salary Range - based on experience and tickets held:
Base Salary of $120-$140k
