Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain control testing methodology and assurance practices for Line 1 Risk, tailored to the organisation’s operating environment and aligned with the Group’s Assurance Standard.
• Design and implement a Group-wide control assurance plan.
• Lead and manage controls testing across the organisation’s control universe, assessing control documentation, design and operating effectiveness, and the validity of control self-assessment outcomes.
• Provide progress and outcome reports from assurance activities to Executive and Divisional Committees.
• Lead a team of assurance professionals, fostering a high-performance, values-driven culture.
• Identify and implement automation and integration opportunities to improve assurance efficiency and effectiveness.
• Provide actionable insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders on control effectiveness and improvement areas.

What you'll need to succeed:

• 5–7 years’ experience in the banking sector, with a background in Risk, Assurance, or Internal Audit
• Proven expertise in control self-assessment frameworks, with strong exposure to automation tools and process optimisation (this is essential)
• Exceptional stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills
• Demonstrated leadership experience, with the ability to inspire and guide high-performing teams
