The Opportunity
Whilst initially a 12-month labour hire contract, joining this Department regularly opens the door to longer-term and permanent opportunities. In addition, it will provide you the opportunity to work with one of the most sought-after APS employers and be part of a culture of excellence and high performance.
You will play a key support role in negotiating free trade agreements and imbedding framework that will support further economic growth and trade for Australia.
The Role
You will play a key role in the team, driving coordination, logistics and stakeholder engagement to support free trade negotiations and agreements with overseas nations, including Australia’s largest trading partner.
You will have a consistently busy workload with changing priorities and be responsible for building and maintaining business relationships as well as administration, logistics and supporting stakeholder engagement to ensure mutually beneficial outcomes. Depending on the level you’re engaged at, key responsibilities will include:
- Build and enhance engagement and relationships with key stakeholders
- Draft briefing material, ministerial correspondence etc.
- General administration and providing support to the team
- Develop various communication material for distribution on behalf of the team
- Manage, triage and action incredibly busy inboxes
- Contributing to process improvements and knowledge management within the team
The Ideal Person
You are a capable administrator, or program support officer with demonstrated experienced in the APS and have a strong interest in trade, economics and/or law. You thrive operating in fast-paced, high-stakes environments and have a passion for building relationships and influencing with purpose – something you’ll be able to do a lot of in this role.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has excellent communication skills and is skilled at developing rapport and building relationships, whilst maintaining a high level of professionalism
- Is highly organised, dependable, and able to work independently
- Adapts quickly to changing demands and deadlines
- Fosters positive working relationships and contributes to a team environment
- Ideally has tertiary qualifications in economics, law or international affairs
To be eligible for this position, you must hold a current NV1 security clearance.
Salary / Rate
- $81k - $110k + 15.4% Super
