Salary: $101,221.12 per annum

An exciting opportunity exists for a strategic leader to join Greater Shepparton City Council’s Emergency Management and Resilience team. As the Emergency Management Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing our region’s safety and resilience by further developing our emergency management capacity and capability.

This position is responsible for developing and implementing robust emergency management plans and systems covering mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery, ensuring Council meets its legislative obligations.

You will lead the review of plans, deliver community education sessions, coordinate training exercises and foster strong networks with community partners, all levels of government and emergency service agencies.

The successful applicant will:

Demonstrate an understanding of the Victorian emergency management arrangements including mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery.

Possess a strong background in strategy and procedure development including demonstrated experience working within a highly structured legislative framework.

Have excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to negotiate, influence, foster and maintain networks with key stakeholders and community.

Have exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to work efficiently and effectively independently and with multi-disciplinary groups.

Have experience in development, implementing and monitoring comprehensive training programs.
