We’re looking for health professionals to join us as we open a new, state-of-the-art Mental Health Rehabilitation Service (MHRS) at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital (TQEH).

About the Role
Be part of a supportive, forward-thinking team that’s shaping the future of mental health rehabilitation. As a Mental Health Occupational Therapy Allied Health Assistant (AHA2) at the CALHN MHRS, you’ll work closely with Occupational Therapy staff to support the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care. In this hands-on role, you’ll assist with therapeutic activities that promote skill development, community connection and independence for consumers on their recovery journey. You'll be part of a multidisciplinary team committed to collaboration, innovation and compassion—making every day an opportunity to positively impact someone’s life in a safe, inclusive and purpose-built environment.

About You
You’re a motivated and compassionate individual who thrives in a team environment and is passionate about supporting people on their mental health recovery journey. Your interpersonal skills, practical experience, and commitment to ethical care make you a great fit for this rewarding role.
- You hold or are currently undertaking a Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance or an equivalent qualification.
- You have experience supporting people with mental illness or social disadvantage, including in individual or group therapeutic settings.
- You can build rapport with diverse consumers, recognise changes in wellbeing, and respond appropriately under the direction of Occupational Therapists.
- You’re organised, adaptable, and able to manage tasks efficiently, with sound communication skills and a willingness to continue learning.
