Barnardos Australia is seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist to join our The Connecting Three Dots team in Broadmeadow, 2292. This is a part time contract opportunity to be part of a values-led organisation committed to making a real difference in the lives of children and families.
About the Role
As a Occupational Therapist, you will:
- Provide assessment, training, and follow-up occupational therapy programs for clients.
- Ensure where appropriate, the client’s family, the referral source, professionals supporting the client, and relevant others, contribute to the development of the client’s program.
- As necessary, and in consultation with the client, refer the client to other professionals to assist with the development of their program.
- Provide indirect services to clients by preparing and presenting information/education programs, sessions and workshops to other agencies, professional groups, families and individuals as required.
You’ll join a collaborative and supportive team delivering high-quality, trauma-informed services that uphold child safety, cultural safety, and family-led practice.
Skills and Experience :
- Tertiary qualifications in the field of Occupational Therapy and current registration with AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency).
- Experience in child and family welfare and knowledge surrounding best practice for working with children and young people with disabilities.
- Experience developing and applying individual management plans
- Demonstrated experience in working with children and young people with a disability, and DFSV.
- Demonstrated ability to work respectfully and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, families, and communities, including a strong understanding of cultural safety, self-determination, and the historical and contemporary factors that impact Aboriginal peoples.

- Base salary: $48.41 per hour + 12% superannuation
- Salary packaging: Up to $15,860 tax-free (general living expenses)
