This is for a Permanent Part Time appointment up to 56 hours per fortnight (0.74 FTE).
What is our Clinical Nurse - Palliative Care role?
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate nurse to join our team.
As a member of the Palliative Care multidisciplinary team, you will provide nursing expertise supporting person- and family-centred care. For example, complex care coordination with internal and external services, patient advocacy, emotional support for patient and family, and education. You will also be expected to provide Palliative Care specialist nursing support to fellow colleagues under various clinical settings. This position requires strong interpersonal and communication skills, and a commitment to uphold our organisational values.
Under the direction of the relevant Senior Registered Nurse(s), Clinical Nurse practises in keeping with the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Board Registration Standards and Nursing Practice Decision Making Flowchart. This role provides advanced, comprehensive and evidence-based nursing care to patients as part of a multidisciplinary team, as well as upholds and functions within the core values of the organisation of Care, Respect, Innovation, Teamwork & Integrity. In addition, Clinical Nurse acts as a role model, providing leadership, support, team building and change management through respect, recognition and collaboration.
Palliative Care Team work closely with primary teams caring for patients who have a life limiting illness and require relief of complex physical and emotional symptoms which can no longer be managed by teams alone. The team considers all aspects of a person's social and spiritual needs to guide appropriate care in a reassuring and skilled manner. In addition, this service can support those receiving Palliative treatments and those who have ceased treatments and who are approaching end of life.

Both of these options remain valid for a period of twelve (12) months from when the authorised delegate endorses the recruitment decision.
