About the role

Arena is looking for an experienced Senior Bookkeeper to join our team in Canterbury, NSW on a full-time basis. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and providing valuable financial insights to support the company's growth and success.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll take ownership of our finance and admin engine, bringing visibility, control, and confidence to every corner of the business. Reporting to the General Manager, your work will directly support smarter decisions and stronger delivery.

Key responsibilities:

· Managing accounts payable and receivable

· Daily invoicing and project cost reconciliation

· Preparing accurate P&Ls and cash flow forecasts

· Weekly payroll, PAYG, and superannuation

· Monthly BAS and compliance

· Tracking purchase orders and spend against job budgets

· Weekly financial updates to the GM and leadership team

· Maintaining insurance policies and the asset register

· Improving systems and policies as we grow

Who We’re Looking For

We’re after someone who thrives on clarity, precision, and accountability. Whether you’re a senior bookkeeper with solid experience or a management accountant looking to step closer to operations, this is a role where your input will shape performance.

You’ll need:

· 5+ years’ experience in a bookkeeping or management accounting role

· Demonstrated payroll, BAS, and reporting experience

· Confidence with job costing, forecasting, and reconciling project data

· A strong working knowledge of MYOB, Xero, and Excel

· Strong attention to detail and proactive communication skills

· The ability to work independently and be relied on by a busy leadership team
