A dynamic and fast-growing sports and lifestyle retailer is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to lead and strengthen its finance team. Representing a suite of iconic global sporting brands-including those linked to major international and local leagues-this business blends street culture with sporting passion.

About the Role

Reporting to the Finance Director and working closely with the CFO, this role is responsible for overseeing all day-to-day transactional finance operations, delivering timely internal financial reporting, and managing a high-performing finance team.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, develop and mentor a team of finance professionals
• Deliver accurate and timely monthly management reports, board packs, cashflow forecasts and variance analyses
• Oversee payroll, AP, AR, and bank reconciliations
• Manage group consolidations, BAS, and compliance requirements
• Partner with key stakeholders across the business on P&L and strategic planning
• Support external audit preparation and compliance with internal controls
• Maintain ERP system accuracy and drive finance process improvements
• Champion innovative financial practices and risk mitigation strategies

What You'll Bring

• CPA or CA qualified with 3-5 years in a similar Financial Controller role
• Advanced Excel skills and strong technical accounting knowledge
• Experience with ERP systems; Apparel 21 experience is desirable
• Proven ability to manage deadlines, solve problems, and drive continuous improvement
• Strong communication skills and the ability to influence cross-functionally
