Same description for both Open Pit & UG roles: Reporting to the Geology Manager, you will be the mastermind behind the management of the open pit (or Underground) geology team and supervision of open pit (or UG) grade control activities to ensure they don’t go rogue! Your mission (should you choose to accept it): maximise ore recovery, minimise dilution, and get the highest grade possible to the Plant. Not too much to ask, right?

Your arch-nemesis? The usual suspect: dilution. Your weapon of choice? A deep understanding of geological controls on mineralisation, combined with sharp, accurate grade control and interpretations that actually make sense.

The position will be a short flight, 8/6 Perth FIFO (or residential Kalgoorlie if that’s your vibe) with the usual mix of office based and field-pit based work.

The Important Stuff (aka What You’ll Be Doing):

• Lead the geology team like the seasoned pro you are, setting clear expectations and using performance plans to keep things ticking.
• Design and manage drilling, grade control, and resource development programs—because you're not just here to look at rocks.
• Own the data: collect it, compile it, and keep our 3D geological and GC models as fresh as your morning coffee.
• Stay on top of daily to monthly reconciliations, QAQC, audits, reporting, and budgeting. Yes, spreadsheets are involved.
• Bring some process magic: improve and implement procedures across the open pit geology space.

Who We're After:

• Ideally someone with a solid open pit gold background—senior-level legends or ambitious Project/Mine Geos ready for their next leap.
• FYI: We're also recruiting for open pit and underground Project/Mine Geo roles—so let’s talk options.
• Familiarity with Leapfrog, Surpac, Datamine, and Acquire will give you a solid head-start (a.k.a. actually get you through the door).

$$ will depend on experience ($170-180K base + Super + Bonus structure).
