Reporting to the Lead - Customer relations, the Customer Relations Officer is responsible for delivering outstanding customer care by providing responsive, high-quality service and accurate information to staff and customers via multiple channels of interaction.
As Council’s first point of contact, this role represents the organisation in a positive, professional manner as defined by Council’s Customer Experience (CX) service level standards. The position requires strong capability across diverse customer service functions, including contact‑centre operations, cashiering, reception, social media, and administrative work.
To support the operational requirements of our core customer service functions customer relations staff are required to work rostered hours.
Position Description - Customer Relations Officer
This is a part-time (30 hours per week) position on a 2-year contract.
Key responsibilities are:
Deliver a high level of customer care by providing professional, helpful, high-quality service to customers via all channels of interaction.
Input, track and monitor customer requests, ensuring timely follow up and feedback where required.
Positively support team members in order to maintain a cohesive, dynamic work environment.
Ensure all customer complaints are identified and captured via CRM system (Salesforce).
Achieve agreed service level standards and KPI’s to optimise organisational and departmental goals.
The successful applicant will have:
Certificate III in Business Administration or demonstrated equivalent experience in a customer service-related environment
Strong customer service skills and ability to manage complex customer interactions
Outstanding interpersonal skills and a commitment to developing strong working relationships
Experience with Salesforce would be highly regarded
Use initiative and working with minimal supervision
Well established verbal and written communication skills
Be willing to undergo a pre-employment medical assessment and Police check
Strong IT skills that enable the use of corporate systems in the day to day work activities

Salary range is between $83,751 - $89,871 (Full Time Equivalent) plus superannuation guarantee and will be negotiated commensurate with skills, experience and qualifications.
