About the Role:
Immunopathology is a subsection of the Immunopathology & Infectious Immunoassay Department of ACT Pathology. Immunopathology services include screening and characterisation of autoantibodies; allergy testing including total IgE, allergen specific IgE and tryptase; serum protein analysis including quantitation of immunoglobulins and complements, paraprotein and cryoglobulin investigation; and CSF oligoclonal bands detection. A wide range of methodologies including indirect immunofluorescence, ELISA, electrophoresis, immunofixation and isoelectric focussing are utilised. Instrumentation includes the Abbott Alinity, Dynex DS2, Phadia 250, Helena SPIFE 3000, Euroimmun EuroBlotOne, Werfen BioFlash, Abacus DSRie and Image Navigator System.
The successful candidate will have experience performing, interpreting and troubleshooting Immunoassays using methods such as indirect immunofluorescence, ELISA, Chemiluminescence, protein electrophoresis and Immunoblot. They must also have experience interpreting and verifying Immunopathology results, reviewing external quality assessment reports and previous experience undergoing laboratory accreditation assessments. The preferred candidate will also have demonstrated experience supervising and training a team within Immunopathology.
This position is a full-time permanent position. The successful applicant will be required to work nominal hours Monday to Friday. There will also be a requirement to participate in the out of hours roster and overtime as required.
