Join the Northern Territory Government and contribute to the delivery of the Urgent Repairs and Cyclical Maintenance program in the Darwin Region.

The Department of Logistics and Infrastructure works with the community, business and government partners to regulate, construct, maintain and invest in integrated sustainable infrastructure, developments and services across the Territory.

The Role
As Project Manager – Hydraulics (Plumbing) within the Maintenance Branch, you will be responsible for the delivery of trade-based hydraulic projects including Capital works, Minor Works and specific maintenance projects and effective management of period contracts for repairs and maintenance across multiple Northern Territory Government agencies. You’ll bring technical advice, strategic oversight, and high-level contract management to support the Infrastructure Maintenance Branch.

Projects will vary widely in scale and complexity—and so will your day. You’ll be responsible for managing all phases of allocated trade-based project delivery and contract management to providing high level assistance and advice on project and contract related matters. This role combines both fieldwork and office-based responsibilities, based in Darwin. Expect regular site visits, travel between project locations, and collaboration across various agencies as part of your weekly routine

About you

Hydraulics (Plumbing) trade qualification, or experience directly related to the position.

Hold either a current NT Plumbers and Drainers Advanced Tradesman licence or Journeyman licence (minimum 10 years) issued by an Australian State or Territory Licensing Board.

Substantial knowledge and experience in building project and contract management

Strong technical knowledge in the Construction Code, and relevant Australian Standards relevant to the Hydraulics (Plumbing) trade.

Strong relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills in diverse, cross-cultural environments

A current NT driver’s licence (or ability to obtain)

Desirable - Certificate IV in Building or Project Management
