We are partnering with a leading Australian Industry Superfund in the recruitment of two Senior Operational Risk & Governance Specialists.
These two roles (1 x Perm, 1 x 5mth Maternity Leave Contract) will partner with the Investment Execution (Middle Office) teams in managing and evolving operational risk practices and awareness whilst supporting team leaders fulfill their risk responsibilities aligned to Enterprise Risk & Investment Governance Frameworks and broader regulatory requirements.
Reporting to the Head of Investment Execution (IE), specific responsibilities will include:
- Provide subject matter expertise, advice, and coaching to the IE team on incident management, risk and control assessment, data governance and business team risk reporting to build greater risk awareness, culture, and maturity
- Review and monitor all IE team practices, business procedures and processes to ensure they are appropriately controlled, compliant with legislation, regulation, law and align with enterprise-wide frameworks, policies, risk strategy, and risk appetite
- In Collaboration with the 2nd Line Regulatory Change Team, assess policy and regulatory changes and provide guidance and support to enable IE leaders to implement and embed updated team processes, practices and controls to meet new requirements.
- Ensure IE related content in the Fund’s GRC system maintained and kept up to date.
- Support IE team members to document, review, monitor and analyse incidents in to ensure that root cause is understood, appropriate remediations are undertaken, systematic incidents are addressed and incidents are closed in a timely manner.
- Proactively work with team leaders to regularly review policies, process maps (including E2E process reviews), procedures, controls and take effective remedial action, where necessary, to ensure operational risks are managed effectively.
- Continually work with team leaders to embed consistent knowledge and capability across all of IE on control design and effectiveness.
Success in this role requires a deep understanding of superannuation / investment management middle and back office processes (incl data governance), combined with deep experience in risk management & controls, governance frameworks and superannuation regulation.
You are experienced, driven and outcome oriented risk professional, with excellent communication and presentation skills and a strong client partnering focus. Your ability to engage build strong working relationships with senior business stakeholders will be a major contributor to your success.
