The Role
As a Marine Manager at Mariner Diesel, your duties will include:
Managing a small team of mechanics
Organising & allocating jobs
Liaising with the Service Manager
Helping with servicing & maintaining marine engines and drivetrains during busy periods
Assist with diagnosing and repairing engine & vessel systems
Assist with maintaining marine generators (Mase, eniquest and others)
Liaise with OEM’s & boat owners with re-powering options (diesel and petrol)
Performing on-water testing, collections, and deliveries
Assist with installing new engines and systems
Communicating clearly with both the team and customers
Ordering parts
Invoicing
What We’re Looking For
Qualified mechanical tradesperson (marine background preferred, but other industries welcome)
Experience with diesel/petrol engines and 12v electrical systems
Excellent diagnosis and troubleshooting skills
Strong work ethic — self-motivated, reliable, and a team player
Passion for boats and being on the water
Valid driver’s licence (boat licence a plus)
At least 2 years marine experience
Strong organisational skills
Excellent time management
High competency on a computer
Volvo Penta experience desired
Strong leadership skills desired
