A leading independent school is expanding its technology function and creating a Systems & Cyber Engineer role to strengthen resilience, modernise core platforms and uplift security practices. You’ll join a 12-person tech team (helpdesk, AV, DBAs, developer and projects) and work closely with the Director of IT and Desktop Services Manager.

What you’ll do

• Own day-to-day systems administration and cyber operations.
• Drive patching, vulnerability monitoring and coordinate penetration testing with an MSP.
• Manage identity & access (e.g., AD/Azure AD/Entra; school IDM exposure a plus).
• Support ongoing upgrades and system replacements across the digital environment.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to improve security, reliability and user experience.

About you

• Broad technical grounding across systems and cyber (Windows/O365/Entra/Azure; networking basics; EDR/SIEM).
• Comfortable in small–mid environments; hands-on and autonomous but team-oriented.
• Clear, personable communicator who thrives in a school community.
• Certifications welcome but not essential—proven experience matters most.
