IT Operations Officer (Cloud and Infrastructure)

76 hours per fortnight (1.0 FTE)

Ongoing Position

The Position

The IT Operations Officer (Cloud and Infrastructure) will be a key contributor within the Information Management and Technology team, supporting the delivery of efficient and reliable IMT operations across the organisation. This role actively participates in collaborative efforts by providing responsive second-level technical support, assisting with the delivery of infrastructure projects, and maintaining accurate documentation.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

Essential

A relevant certificate or diploma in Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent work experience. Microsoft or CompTIA certifications (e.g. AZ-900, MD-102, Network+) will be considered an advantage.

Demonstrated experience or formal training in supporting Windows-based environments, including user account administration via Active Directory, Group Policy Objects, and Microsoft 365. Familiarity with endpoint management, system patching, and use of standard operating procedures in a health or community setting is desirable.

Foundational understanding of Microsoft Azure environments, including user provisioning in Azure Active Directory and basic cloud resource management. Demonstrated knowledge of core networking principles (e.g. DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP) and experience supporting secure remote connectivity (e.g. VPNs, multi-site environments).

Proven ability to deliver responsive, courteous, and solution-focused technical support to a diverse workforce. Ability to communicate effectively with staff from non-technical backgrounds and to support end users in a way that upholds the values of equity, access, and dignity in community health service delivery.

Capacity to resolve routine technical issues methodically, document outcomes clearly, and escalate more complex matters in line with organisational protocols. Demonstrated initiative and accountability in managing support tasks while working collaboratively within a broader IMT team structure.

Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise daily workload in a fast-paced service environment. Demonstrated experience maintaining accurate asset records, system documentation, and ticketing logs in accordance with data management and audit standards.

Understanding of information privacy, security practices, and safe data handling within a health or community service context. Demonstrated willingness to follow policy and contribute to a culture of digital safety and continuous improvement.

A strong commitment to the mission and values of community health, including cultural safety, inclusion, and service excellence. Willingness to support a collaborative, respectful team culture and contribute positively to workplace wellbeing.

A current employee Working with Children Check and Driver’s Licence.

The successful applicant will also be required to undertake and complete a Satisfactory National Police Check.

Desirable

Familiarity with IT service management systems (e.g. ticketing platforms like Freshservice, ServiceNow, or Jira Service Management).

Minimum of 3 years of experience in a role at a health or community health service.
