Swimming Western Australia (SWA) is the peak body for competitive swimming in Western Australia with its head office based at Royal Life Saving Society WA, in Mt Claremont. Its key stakeholders include Western Australian swimming associations and Clubs, Swimming Australia, and other State Swimming Associations.
SWA currently has approximately 80 clubs and nearly 11,000 members state-wide. Its members include swimmers, coaches, officials, administrators, volunteers, and parents of swimmers. SWA is responsible for the management and development of the sport, from ‘grass roots’ community level participation, through to the elite level.
The Association is structured across the operational areas of Participation, Engagement, Performance and Sustainability.
Primary Purpose
To support the development and implementation of participation opportunities across Metropolitan and Regional WA.
Regional servicing initiatives that strengthen swimming WA clubs.
Collaboration with key stakeholders that support the ongoing education and development of clubs.
Core Responsibilities
Delivery of participation opportunities in metropolitan and regional WA.
Deliver the SWA Regional Servicing Plan in association with key stakeholders.
Deliver club development opportunities within WA.
Key Duties
Liaise with DCITS, Swimming Australia, Clubs, Members and other stakeholders on matters regarding swimming Club development and education;
Assist with the strengthening and growth of affiliated swimming clubs
Assist with the start-up of any new swimming clubs across the state.
Essential criteria
Experience within community club environment/s
Preparedness to be flexible in respect to work hours and intrastate travel.
Ability to work independently
A current driver’s license.
Commitment to child safe practices
Excellent interpersonal skills across multiple groups, including volunteers, coaches, schools and pool facilities across a range of organisations
Desirable
Strong passion for swimming and other aquatic sports.
The ability to provide exceptional customer service.
