You bring hands-on experience in lab-based science research, particularly in chemistry, and are confident operating specialised instruments and running experiments. Your clear communication and strong writing skills are an asset when contributing to publications and working with others. You're a reliable team player who collaborates well with colleagues and students alike.
About the role
Reporting to the Professorial Lead at the Future Industries Institute, you will contribute to research on the project Resolving organic carbon storage pathways of enhanced rock weathering in high value orchards, funded by Cascade Climate. In collaboration with James Cook University and industry partner Carbonaught, you will provide scientific and technical support to achieve the project’s objectives.

To be successful you will need
- Masters or Honours qualification in Environmental Science, Soil Science, Chemistry, or a related field
- Practical experience with wet chemistry techniques and analytical instruments
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including liaison with partners and colleagues
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadline
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a research environment
