MINE OPERATIONS ENGINEER

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Mine Operations Engineer to join Fosterville Gold Mine and be responsible for the short-term scheduling of the mine operations with a focus on Safe Productivity to achieve the mine plan.

Reporting to the Senior Mine Operations Engineer your duties will include:

Short-Term Scheduling Activities:

In conjunction with the relevant operations, technical, maintenance and contractor personnel, develop the weekly and monthly development, production, cablebolt and contractor mining schedules

Ensure the weekly plan is accurate, practical, achievable, clear and reflective of the 3MRS plan

Work closely with Development and Production Forepersons throughout the week to ensure mining operations are on schedule and in line with the weekly/monthly plan.

Continuous Improvement & Projects:

Participate in the development and implementation of new and improved methods of operation and use of materials, technologies and equipment

Regularly contribute to discussions on continuous improvement with team members

Undertake a proactive approach to your own professional development

Undertake operational projects.

Demonstrating leadership by actively promoting and consistently modelling behaviours that uphold and reinforce the site's OHS and environmental standards.

The successful candidate should possess the following:

Mining Engineering Degree (or equivalent)

Previous experience in a Mining Engineer role with underground mining and scheduling experience

Excellent understanding of underground work practices and procedures

Excellent computer skills including mining software packages (Deswick, Surpac etc.) and the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Powerpoint and Outlook)

The roster for this residential position will be 8:6 Roster (11 hour days)
