This is a fantastic opportunity for a senior safety professional looking to take ownership of a national WHS function in a hands-on, collaborative environment.

About the Role
Reporting to the Group Head of HR, this newly created position offers the chance to own and shape WHS strategy and injury management across a broad network. You'll work closely with General Managers across AU and NZ to embed safety practices, build trust, and deliver on meaningful initiatives.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys rolling up their sleeves, thrives on variety, and is confident balancing strategic oversight with hands-on delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Build trusted relationships with GMs and employees on workers compensation or ACC
• Lead WHS meetings across AU and NZ and foster shared ownership of safety
• Manage end-to-end workers compensation and return-to-work programs
• Drive completion of WHS checklist actions (targeting 85% completion within 12 months)
• Review and maintain policies and procedures via SharePoint
• Deliver toolbox talks and WHS communications
• Assist in incident reviews and workers compensation claims, as required
• Develop risk management plans for high-risk roles or tasks
• Support and promote wellbeing and psychosocial safety initiatives

About You

• 8+ years’ experience in WHS and/or injury management roles
• Proven success managing RTW and workers compensation across ANZ
• Warm, empathetic, and confident supporting injured workers and coaching stakeholders
• Skilled in influencing safety outcomes across varied business units
• Comfortable operating without a formal WHS system – confident managing documentation manually
• Deep understanding of WHS legislation across AU and NZ
• Tertiary qualifications in WHS or a related field
• Willingness to travel across AU and NZ
