The Role
The APS 5 Engineer will be required to provide engineering advice to support the achievement of Technical Integrity of land military equipment and systems. They will undertake specialist, technical research and analysis, conduct reviews, assessments and perform procedural or operational support work to achieve results to meet Defence capability needs.
Land Materiel consists of, but is not limited to the following types of capabilities:
- Light and Heavy Armoured Vehicle Platforms
- Wheeled and Tracked Vehicle Platforms
- Weapons and Ordnance
- Petroleum and Bulk Fuel equipment
- Communications, Ground and Satellite systems
- Chemical Biological Radiological Nuclear Defence
- Simulation Systems
- Protective Clothing
- Medical and Dental
- Power Generation and Distribution
- Test and Evaluation
- Specialised Technical Services.
About our Team
Land Systems Division’s (LSD) mission is to acquire and support capability that enables the ADF to generate and sustain deployable Land power for an integrated force, in peace and war. We aim to be agile, innovative and outcomes-focussed as we collaborate closely with the Services and industry to deliver the latest equipment to maximise ADF performance. The Land Engineering Agency (LEA), as part of the LSD, supports various Directorates and Systems Program Offices to ensure successful requirements development, acquisition and in-service support of materiel. LEA provides services in engineering, testing, design and development and technical data management. Services are provided across the whole of the Defence Capability Life Cycle. Our Ideal Candidate
The right person for this role will be an Engineer who is required to engage with stakeholders, and apply technical engineering knowledge and experience in support of Defence materiel capability lifecycle.
Candidates are sought from across all disciplines/specialities, in particular: Electrical/Electronics, Mechanical/Materials, Mechatronics, Automotive, Communications, Systems Engineering, Textiles, Biomedical, Chemical, Aerospace, Weapons, Petroleum Operations, Mechanical Drafting, Test and Evaluation and Reliability Engineering.
The successful candidate will:
- Be able to apply technical engineering knowledge and/or experience, understand priorities to research and define issues and corrective actions
- Build and sustain positive relationships with team members and actively participate in team work and group activities
- Meet the mandatory qualifications.
Final year University students are encouraged to apply; however, an offer of employment cannot be made until proof of completion of a Degree that meets the mandatory qualification requirements can be provided.
