Peregian Kids is an exciting 60 place service launched in January 2018, offering before and after school care, and vacation care to primary school aged children in the local area.

Programs focus on fun, learning and leisure!

The service operates from the Peregian Beach College campus and is easily accessed by students of the College, and students at other schools in the area who can travel daily by bus.

The service offers well resourced, air-conditioned indoor learning spaces and multiple outdoor play areas in a beautiful natural environment.

A variety of activities are offered daily along with incursions/excursions for children attending the service during vacation periods

Position Overview

The OSHC Coordinator manages the Outside School Hours Care service ensuring compliance with Government regulatory standards and families’ expectation. The role will incorporate planning and delivery of programs and activities, as well as training and managing staff. The OSHC Coordinator will accurately maintain the administrative information systems and processes of the service.

Key Selection Criteria

The successful applicant will have:

· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

· Genuine interest in working with children

· Proven qualities of effective leadership, management, and administration

· A willingness and ability to embrace the challenges of a changing environment

· Proven ability to communicate and work effectively with stakeholders

· Professionalism in conduct and approach

· Previous experience as Coordinator or 2IC of an OSHC service

· Proficiency with childcare management software (Xap preferred)

Qualifications

· Current, paid Blue Card

· Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care or above (or ACECQA approved equivalent)

· Current First Aid, CPR, and Asthma/Anaphylaxis certification or willingness to attain

· Extensive knowledge and practical understanding of Child Care legislation, including the National Quality Framework, National Quality Standards, and My Time Our Place

· Consent to and qualified to become Nominated Supervisor of the service

Duties and Responsibilities

· Responsible for the overall management and administration of the service

· Supervise the implementation of developmentally appropriate programs for children

· Recruit staff in accordance with relevant regulations and internal policies

· Maintain day-to-day bookings and handle all administrative matters

· Ensure that the service adheres to all relevant regulations and statutory requirements

· Ensure that the service meets or exceeds quality assurance requirements

· Liaise with families and outside agencies

· Liaise with Management as appropriate

· Provide professional leadership and development to staff

· Develop and maintain policies and procedures for the service
