SPHPM encompasses a broad range of disciplines including epidemiology, biostatistics, research ethics, implementation science, clinical trials and health economics.

This is your opportunity to contribute to two nationally significant research projects within the Australian and New Zealand Intensive Care Research Centre (ANZIC-RC) – a world-leading clinical research methods centre based at the Alfred Hospital campus.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Senior Project Officer to coordinate key activities across the PRECISION and CONNECT clinical research studies. You will provide high-level coordination across all stages of these multi-site trials – from documentation and protocol development through to ethics compliance, site monitoring and stakeholder engagement.

Your work will directly contribute to improvements in intensive care delivery, patient outcomes and evidence-based practice across Australia and New Zealand.

Key responsibilities

  • Coordinate end-to-end project activities including planning, stakeholder liaison, monitoring timelines and managing deliverables
  • Support ethics submissions and data management processes aligned with Good Clinical Practice standards
  • Conduct and oversee on-site monitoring visits (including interstate travel as required)
  • Develop study tools, project documentation, reports and presentations tailored for varied audiences
  • Provide advice to research teams and contribute to continuous process improvement
  • Maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders including clinical partners, trial sites and research collaborators

About you

You will bring a strong foundation in project or research coordination (ideally in a healthcare or clinical setting), excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work with independence and initiative.

Your qualifications and experience should include:

  • A degree in a health or research-related discipline (ICU background highly regarded), or equivalent experience
  • Proven success coordinating complex projects or clinical trials within strict timelines
  • Strong organisational and stakeholder engagement skills
  • High-level analytical skills and ability to synthesise complex data
  • Advanced communication skills, with experience preparing professional documentation and reporting to varied audiences
  • Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office applications
