Struddys is currently undergoing a system upgrade and are looking for an experienced Warehouse Manager who can support our warehouse growth by implementing best-practice procedures and assist in mapping out the new system. You will manage a team of 12 employees, including casuals.
Reports to: The Warehouse Manager will report to the Operations Manager.
Job Summary
The Warehouse Manager is responsible for leading and training the warehouse team, creating rosters, and fostering a safe and efficient work environment. They manage inventory accuracy through stock monitoring, regular stocktakes, and collaboration with procurement and sales for stock forecasting. The role oversees all order fulfilment operations—ensuring timely and accurate picking, packing, and dispatch of orders, while managing returns and reshipments. They coordinate closely with the online stores team for pre-sale periods, preparing the warehouse and monitoring delivery performance. Additionally, the Warehouse Manager ensures compliance with WHS policies, drives continuous process improvements, and manages systems, documentation, and logistics to support optimal warehouse performance.
Responsibilities and Duties
Key Tasks:
Assign daily tasks and priorities to warehouse staff based on incoming and outgoing orders.
Track and report daily fulfilment KPIs (i.e. orders dispatched on time, picking errors).
Coordinate incoming deliveries and receipting of goods.
Manage communication with couriers and freight partners to resolve issues or delays, working closely with Logistics Manager to resolve or improve any issues.
Maintain clear documentation for all stock movements and order processing activities.
Plan warehouse layout and racking to optimise space and workflow efficiency.
Support system upgrades or new technology implementations in the warehouse.
Staff Management & Training
Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and performance management of warehouse staff to ensure a high-performing and reliable team, working closely with HR as needed.
Create and manage rosters to meet workload demands, especially during peak periods.
Lead, train, and supervise the warehouse team, including area leads, senior warehouse assistants, and warehouse assistants in day-to-day work.
Conduct 6-monthly performance appraisals with direct reports as per company guidelines.
Foster a positive, safe, and productive working environment.
Process & Systems Management
Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce manual errors.
Utilise warehouse management systems (WMS) and ERP platforms to maintain visibility over order fulfilment and inventory, including managing the manual import of orders from BigCommerce to MYOB.
Ensure all workflows support company SLAs and KPIs for dispatch accuracy and timeliness.
Inventory Management
Monitor inventory levels, stock movements, and storage locations.
Coordinate regular stocktakes and cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
Work with procurement and sales teams to forecast and manage stock for online and pre-sale campaigns.
Order Fulfilment Operations
Oversee the picking, packing, and dispatching of all wholesale, online store, and pre-sale orders.
Ensure all customer orders are processed and shipped within required timeframes.
Implement and maintain processes for managing order backlogs, returns, and re-shipments
Pre-Sale Store Coordination
Liaise with Online stores team to understand timelines and order volumes for upcoming pre-sale stores.
Prepare the warehouse for high-volume fulfilment periods, including temporary staffing and layout adjustments.
Track pre-sale delivery performance and escalate issues proactively.
Health & Safety
Ensure the warehouse complies with all WHS policies and procedures.
Conduct regular safety audits and training.
Maintain clean, organised, and hazard-free work areas.
Qualifications and Skills
Proven experience in warehouse or logistics management (eCommerce experience desirable).
Strong leadership and team management skills.
High attention to detail and a commitment to process accuracy.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Familiarity with WMS, ERP systems (MYOB Acumatica), and Microsoft Excel.
Strong communication and organisational skills.
