Apply your passion for desktop publishing and technical drawing and mapping to deliver a range of geoscientific products published by the Northern Territory Geological Survey (NTGS), the custodian of knowledge and data on the Territory’s geology and resources.

As the Publications Officer your primary objective is to deliver high-quality print and digital graphic design, cartographic and desktop publishing services in support of NTGS business objectives to disseminate information, geoscientific publications, data packages and maps.

Your key responsibilities will be to prepare geoscientific maps and figures to the required standard for inclusion in NTGS publications using illustration and mapping software. You will also prepare promotional, display and presentation material of a geoscientific or technical nature and assist with the formatting and desktop editing of geoscientific reports to print-ready status.

To be successful, you will have experience in using illustration and spatial software such as Adobe Illustrator, QGIS or similar applications, as well as experience in the provision of cartographic and graphic design services, layout and preparation of technical reports, publications and presentation material. You will have a strong attention to detail as well as excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills and demonstrated client focus.

Located in Darwin you will form part of a passionate and talented Northern Territory Geological Survey team and be rewarded with a competitive remuneration package inclusive of; 12% superannuation, 6 weeks recreational and 3 weeks personal leave, 17.5% annual leave loading.
