About The Opportunity
Join our dedicated team and play a vital role in maintaining and enhancing the beauty, safety, and functionality of our community’s outdoor spaces. This hands-on position supports the care and presentation of our parks, gardens, open spaces, cemeteries, reserves, beaches, foreshores, and streetscapes. You’ll contribute to creating welcoming and well-maintained environments that the community can enjoy, working as part of a team committed to delivering high-quality services that showcase and protect our region’s natural and built assets.
About You
- Appropriate licences, certificates and qualifications relating to parks and environment operation, maintenance and improvement ; a Certificate ll or higher in a Horticultural related field, a Chainsaw Ticket and Herbicide Operator Ticket (AC/DC) is desirable
- Possession of a current Construction lndustry General Safety lnduction is essential
- Very high level of experience in Parks Environment, Landscape and Horticultural activities, that may include labouring, gardening, cleaning, maintenance and repair, maintaining and pruning vegetation, grass and turf management, herbicide application, playscape maintenance, traffic control and signage set-out
- Very high level of experience operating relevant item/s of plant. Workplace Health and Safety Certificate of Competency for the relevant item/s of plant
- Possession of a current Class 'C' Drivers Licence is essential; Other classes of licence may be required for operation of some vehicles and plant and possession of a Special Vehicle endorsement - Class 'UD, and current classes 'MR' or 'HR' Drivers Licence would be an advantage.
- A sound knowledge of/or the ability to acquire sound knowledge of Part 3 of the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices.
- Demonstrated very high level of experience in the operation and basic maintenance of relevant item/s of plant.
- Demonstrated very high level of ability to work effectively within a team environment under limited supervision ensuring that outcomes are achieved.
- Demonstrated very high level of good verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in using software programs, including Assetic, on tablets to activate and complete jobs
