Two ongoing/fixed vacancies. These are part time vacancies available for 0.8 (32 hrs) per week.

The Role
As a Midwife Clinical Specialist, you will be working on-call as the primary midwife, caring for up to 32 women annually, providing antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care for up to six weeks.
You will be responsible for providing comprehensive, evidence-based and culturally responsive midwifery-led care within the continuity of care model within a primary health care framework in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team and contribute to mentoring of less-experienced staff.
About the Midwifery Group Practice
The Midwifery Group Practice (MGP) is located at Alice Springs Hospital and provides women-centred, culturally safe care through a continuity-of-care model from early pregnancy to six weeks postpartum. Women are supported by a small team of midwives—often with a primary midwife—and can choose to birth at home or in hospital, depending on preferences, eligibility and staffing availability. MGP provides flexible clinic and home visits, 24/7 midwife phone support, with a strong focus on supporting Aboriginal women.
About you
You’re passionate about woman-centred care and committed to clinical excellence.
To be successful you will have:
Current registration with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia or eligible for same.
Proven high-level clinical knowledge and skills in Midwifery or related field, supported by strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
Commitment to a learning culture through clinical guidance and mentoring.
Experience supporting local/ regional policy development, interpreting policy and precedent, and contributing to change management initiatives.
Well-developed understanding of social and cultural factors influencing client and family health care.
