24-month appointment pool

We are establishing an appointment pool of experienced and innovative individuals to join North Regional TAFE (NRTAFE) as Lecturers in Community Services.

Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments may be made for vacancies that arise in the next 24 months.

We may offer permanent, fixed term, full time, part time or casual appointments, with the possibility of a further term and/or permanency.

We currently have one permanent full-time role for immediate filling.

Do you have a passion for sharing your trade with the next generation?

You will be responsible for delivering training and assessment for Community Services qualifications from Certificate II to Diploma level. As well as other related Industry Training Package this includes both theory and practical learning activities.

As a lecturer at NRTAFE, you would be focussed on teaching, facilitating learning, assessing and mentoring students in accordance with relevant curriculum and/or training package requirements. You will also undertake Professional Activities and Activities Related to Delivery. In order to maintain quality educational services, you are required to keep abreast of technological and other developments in their field through professional development to provide up-to-date information and advice to the College and industry, where appropriate.

Relevant Qualifications and Experience

To be eligible for employment, you must have:

A minimum 5 years industry or lecturing experience in Community Services (Mental Health, Youth Work or Family Violence)

Relevant vocational qualifications and/or competencies to at least Diploma level or above.

It is preferred that applicants already possess a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or can demonstrate willingness or progression towards achieving it.

There is a minimum qualification required to deliver accredited Vocational Education and Training (VET) as defined by the Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) 2015 (Standards), or its successors. The current minimum qualification required is TAE40122/TAE40116/TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or a diploma or higher-level qualification in adult education or a secondary teaching qualification with one of the following credentials (TAESS00011/TAESS00019 Assessor Skill Set or TAESS00024 VET Delivered to School Students Teacher Enhancement Skill Set).

Applicants who do not yet hold the minimum required VET credentials are still eligible to apply, however North Regional TAFE will require the successful candidate to be enrolled, and have commenced training in, an approved training and assessment credential and record satisfactory progress to enable the credential to be completed within two years from commencement.

If you have experience delivering relevant and engaging training in a classroom and workplace settings to a diverse range of students, sound verbal and written communication skills, good administration skills including using Microsoft Office products and the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a team we want to hear from you!

Lecturing staff employed in 2025 are eligible to receive a Temporary Regional Incentive of $15,000 (pa, gross – to be adjusted pro rata for FTE). Eligible staff will receive a percentage of this payment on commencement at NRTAFE, with the remainder paid on the anniversary of start date. Staff must remain employed in the location for 12 months to be eligible to receive the second payment.
