About Us
Pilbara Community Legal Service Inc. (PCLS) is a non-profit, government-funded, community organisation that provides free, accessible, equitable, responsible, and culturally appropriate advice, support, and advocacy to the people of the Pilbara.
We offer a range of services, including:
- Legal Services
- Financial Counselling
- Tenant Advice and Education Service
- Housing Support
- Domestic Violence Advocacy & Support
- Redress Support
- Settlement, Engagement and Transition Services (SETS)
We are a well-established and highly valued part of the Pilbara social infrastructure and have regional offices in Karratha, Roebourne, South Hedland, and Newman.
About the Opportunity
The National Redress Scheme (RSS) is about recognising the harm done to people who were sexually abused as children while in the care of an institution. Free, confidential, practical, and emotional support is available before, during and after people make, or consider making, an application to the Scheme.

Essential Criteria:
- A strong commitment to social justice and access to justice issues.
- High-level, interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience in working with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander communities.
- Adhere to ethical, privacy and confidentiality standards
- Maintain accurate data management
- Current Australian driver’s license and Australian Working Rights.
- Able to travel to remote areas to deliver services to clients and the community.
Desirable Criteria:
• Previous involvement in the Community Legal Sector and knowledge of the Action Step database preferred.
• Demonstrated networking ability
