The opportunity

Our client is a community focused federal government agency. They have an exciting opportunity available for multiple Technical Business Analysts with strong Cyber Security backgrounds to help assist with Agency wide security uplift, particularly across Zero Trust principles, business continuity and disaster recovery.

These will be a 12-month initial contract with a further 12 month extensions possible, offering open market hourly rates. Our client can base this role out of Richmond or Geelong. Hybrid work environment expecting 50/50 splits.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating with stakeholders to elicit, document, and validate technical and business requirements, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives for cyber security projects.
  • Translating business needs into functional specifications and work with technical teams to design, assess, and refine solutions that meet those needs.
  • Analysing existing business processes, identify inefficiencies, and recommend improvements across cyber security processes.
  • Assisting the project manager and team to translate requirements into project deliverables and tasks.
  • Responding to, and prioritising, competing and often urgent requests.
  • Managing confidential and sensitive information.
  • Assisting in developing test plans, conducting UAT, and supporting deployment activities to ensure solutions are delivered effectively and meet business requirements.

About you

  • Minimum of five years' experience as a technical business analyst in cyber security.
  • Experience in Australian Government organisations.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices. This includes understanding of common threats, vulnerabilities, and mitigation strategies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Agile delivery experience.

Desirable criteria

  • Knowledge of Business Continuity Management and Disaster Recovery.
  • Knowledge of Zero Trust principles.
