Join Mackay Regional Council as a Labourer in our RMPC team! Based at the Paget Depot, this is your opportunity to contribute to vital road and drainage maintenance across our region. This is a permanent full-time position offering stability and the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment.

About this opportunity:

We are seeking a motivated and safety-conscious Labourer to join our Roads & Drainage team under the RMPC (Road Maintenance Performance Contract) program.

In this role, you will:

  • Perform labouring duties and operate plant and trucks for road and drainage maintenance and repairs.
  • Carry out tasks such as earthworks, pipelaying, concrete work, bitumen application, and vegetation control.
  • Operate small ride-on equipment and light mechanical plant.
  • Conduct daily maintenance checks and collaborate with mechanical services.
  • Provide traffic management and use digital tools to manage work orders.

Essential Qualifications, Experience & Skills:

  • Current General Construction Safety "White" Card.
  • QLD Manual Car 'C' Class Open Driver's Licence.
  • QLD Medium Rigid Truck 'MR' Class Licence (or ability to obtain within 6 months).
  • Traffic Controllers accreditation (TCT & TMI) (or ability to obtain within 3 months).
  • Experience in road and drainage construction and maintenance.
  • Competency in operating small plant and equipment.
