Purpose:

To undertake a range of plant operation and labouring duties to enable delivery of the following Town and Surrounds programs within Wallumbilla, Yuleba and Jackson according to the service level priorities and budget approved by Council:

• Maintenance of Council assets in Bendemere, ensuring a high standard of presentation, in line with service level standards, including but not limited to:

o open spaces, trees, parks and gardens

o pathways, streetscapes and town entrances

o cemeteries

o waste management facilities

o other public facilities and park and recreation infrastructure

• Assistance with water meter reading and provide labour assistance to plumber as required to maintain local water operations.
• Assistance with burials, interment of ashes and installation of plaques and other cemetery matters as required.
• Undertake general labouring duties and participate in multi-skilled team tasks as required for Council's sealed and unsealed roads and other assets.

Mandatory and Highly Desirable Qualifications and Licences:

To be successful, you will need to demonstrate that you will be able to meet the below mandatory requirements for the role:

• Current LR (Light Rigid) Class Driver Licence
• General Construction Induction (White) Card
• Verification of Skills Level to Competently Operate Mobile Plant (in particular Backhoe, Slasher, Mower)
• Chainsaw certificate of competency (Desirable)
• ACDC Chemical Accreditation (Certificate and Licence) (Desirable)
• Traffic Management Implementation training (Desirable)
• Certificate II in Horticulture (or equivalent) (Desirable)
• Certificate II in Civil Construction – Road Construction and Maintenance (or equivalent) (Desirable)

Details and Benefits:

• Position based in Yuleba, Qld
• Permanent, Full-Time - 38hours per week
• Maranoa Regional Council Certified Agreement 2023 - Stream B - Level 6-8
• Maranoa Locality Allowance - $72.00 per fortnight
