Are you ready to roll up your sleeves and make a real impact in your community? Mackay Regional Council is seeking enthusiastic and skilled Labourers to join our Civil Operations team. If you enjoy hands-on work, operating machinery, and being part of a supportive crew, this could be your next great opportunity!

What You'll Be Doing

  • Operating trucks (up to 15 tonnes GVM), ride-on equipment, and light mechanical plant
  • Performing labouring tasks in road and drainage construction and maintenance
  • Managing traffic safely around work sites
  • Maintaining equipment and completing pre-start checks
  • Using tech tools to manage work orders and complete paperwork
  • Supporting your team and sharing knowledge on the job

Essential Requirements

  • Current General Construction Safety 'White' Card
  • Current QLD Manual Car 'C' Class Open Driver's Licence
  • Current QLD Medium Rigid Truck 'MR' Class Licence (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
  • Current Traffic Controllers accreditation (TCT & TMI) (or ability to obtain within 3 months)
  • Experience in truck driving, operating ride-on equipment, and civil construction
  • Strong communication, manual handling, and teamwork skills
  • Knowledge of WH&S requirements and road/drainage procedures

Desirable Extras

  • Certificate II in Civil Construction
  • Experience with Asset Management Software (preferably Assetic AMS)
  • Experience in traffic control and bitumen tasks
  • Understanding of Mackay Regional Council's Enterprise Risk Management Framework
