Videography & Social Media Intern – Space Machines Company
Location: Botany, Sydney | Paid Internship | Part-Time or Full-Time

About Us
At Space Machines Company, we are building Australia's in-space infrastructure. From advanced orbital transport vehicles to next-generation space servicing capabilities, our mission is to deliver sustainable and scalable solutions for space logistics.

As we prepare for critical missions and expand our public-facing presence, we’re looking for a Videography Intern to help us visually tell the story of Australian space innovation. This is a hands-on, high-impact role for someone who is passionate about space, content creation, and digital storytelling.

About the Role

This role is ideal for a driven and skilled videographer who thrives behind the camera and in the editing suite. You’ll play a key role in shaping and executing video content across our digital platforms, with a primary focus on Instagram and X. From launch updates to team stories to product showcases, you’ll help create content that connects with engineers, investors, media, and the wider public.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and execute in-house video production — storyboarding, filming, and editing content across formats and channels

Operate drones and camera equipment to capture engaging footage in studio, lab, and field environments

Collaborate on content strategy and planning for Instagram and X, curating consistent, high-quality visual feeds

Translate engineering and product information into accessible and compelling visual narratives

Support marketing campaigns, team highlights, event coverage, and digital storytelling efforts

Deliver polished video assets using tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve - or whatever works for you!

You will Bring

Demonstrated experience with DSLR/mirrorless camera operation, lighting, audio, and video editing

Proficiency with drone filming and post-production techniques

A portfolio of original work that shows your ability to tell visual stories through video and pictures.

Understanding of social media trends, short-form video formats, and content performance fundamentals

High attention to detail and ability to deliver under tight timelines

A can-do mindset, creative energy, and passion for technology and space

Competency in Preferred Tools

We’re looking for someone who’s not just creative, but also confident using industry-standard tools and eager to adopt emerging ones. You should be comfortable working with:

Adobe Creative Suite, particularly:

Premiere Pro (video editing)

Photoshop (image manipulation and graphics)

Lightroom (photo editing and colour correction)

Illustrator (vector design and graphics)

A strong ability (and willingness) to pick up and integrate the latest AI tools into your creative workflow — from video editing automation to AI-assisted storyboarding and asset generation

Desirable (But Not Essential)

Studying or recently graduated in Film, Media, Communications, or related fields

Experience creating content in high-tech or engineering environments

Familiarity with motion graphics, After Effects, or animation tools

Basic graphic design or photography capabilities

Knowledge of orbital mechanics or space systems (we’ll teach you what you need to know)

Strong background in graphic design

What You'll Get

Opportunity to help shape how Australia’s leading space company presents itself to the world

Work closely with a highly-skilled team of engineers, designers, and marketers

Gain practical experience across technical filming, aerospace storytelling, and brand building

Access to equipment, mentorship, and a mission-driven workplace that values creativity and innovation
